GST Calculator

Add or remove GST from any amount instantly — supports all standard Indian GST slabs.

How GST Calculation Works

GST (Goods and Services Tax) is a single indirect tax applied on the supply of goods and services in India. When you add GST, the tax is calculated on top of a base amount to arrive at the final price the customer pays. When you remove GST, you’re working backward from a GST-inclusive price to find out how much of it was the original base amount and how much was tax.

For example, adding 18% GST to a base amount of ₹1,000 gives a GST amount of ₹180 and a total of ₹1,180. Removing 18% GST from a total of ₹1,180 gives back the same base amount of ₹1,000 and GST of ₹180 — the two operations are exact inverses of each other.

If you’re budgeting monthly costs after factoring in loan repayments, our EMI Calculator can help you plan those alongside GST-inclusive expenses. For quick percentage-based calculations beyond tax, try the Percentage Calculator.
