CheckMatter Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information CheckMatter handles, why it is used, when third parties may receive it, and how you can manage cookies and privacy choices.

Last updated and reviewed: 1 September 2026.

Scope and controller

This policy applies to checkmatter.com, its calculators, guides, and related pages. CheckMatter is founded and maintained by Ajit Naskar. Privacy questions and rights requests can be sent to contact@checkmatter.com or through the contact page.

Information you provide

We receive information that you choose to send, such as your name, email address, message, correction details, or partnership enquiry. Please do not send confidential financial, tax, medical, identity, or account information.

Calculator inputs

CheckMatter calculators are designed to process inputs in your browser. We do not intentionally send the numbers, dates, salaries, balances, health measurements, or other values you enter to analytics. A calculator page may store a preference or calculation history locally on your device when that feature is clearly shown.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, CheckMatter and its service providers may receive technical and usage information such as your IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser and device type, operating system, language, referring page, pages viewed, timestamps, interactions, diagnostics, cookie identifiers, advertising identifiers, and similar device or network identifiers. Web beacons, pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies may be used for the purposes described below.

How information is used

  • Provide, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the site.
  • Measure aggregate traffic and understand which pages are useful.
  • Prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and invalid traffic.
  • Respond to questions, corrections, and rights requests.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce site terms.
  • Display and measure advertising where enabled.

Analytics

CheckMatter uses Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand site use and diagnose performance. These services may process page URLs, referrers, device and browser information, approximate location, IP address, cookie or device identifiers, and interaction events. Our analytics implementation is not intended to receive calculator input values.

Advertising, Google AdSense, and third-party cookies

CheckMatter may use Google AdSense and other advertising partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, pixels, IP addresses, advertising identifiers, and similar technologies to serve, limit, secure, personalize, and measure ads. Google’s use of advertising cookies can allow Google and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to CheckMatter and other websites.

Depending on your location and choices, ads may be personalized, non-personalized, or limited. Personalized ads can use previous activity and interests. Non-personalized ads are based mainly on contextual information such as page content and general location, but cookies or identifiers may still be used for purposes including frequency capping, aggregated reporting, security, and fraud prevention.

You can manage Google ad personalization through Google Ads Settings. You may also learn about industry opt-out choices at YourAdChoices. These controls do not necessarily stop all advertising or all essential storage.

Sharing and processors

Information may be processed by hosting, caching, security, analytics, advertising, and technical service providers acting for CheckMatter or under their own published terms. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a legitimate business transfer. We do not sell personal information for money.

Retention and international processing

We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, security, dispute handling, or legal obligations. Service providers may process information in countries other than your own and use legal transfer safeguards where required.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection; withdraw consent; opt out of certain targeted advertising or sharing; and complain to a data-protection authority. We may need to verify a request and may retain information where an exception or legal obligation applies. Contact us using the details above to exercise an applicable right.

Children

CheckMatter is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child supplied personal information should contact us for review and deletion.

Security and external links

We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. External sites control their own content and privacy practices; review their policies before providing information.

Policy changes

We may update this policy when services, providers, or legal requirements change. Material revisions will receive a new “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use after an update is subject to the revised policy.
