Calculation result
Formula and calculation method
Total base quantity = quantity per pack × pack count × conversion factor. Unit price = total option price ÷ total base quantity. Equal-quantity saving versus A = (A unit price − lowest unit price) × A quantity.
Worked example
Option A: ₹180 for 750 g → ₹240/kg. Option B: ₹276 for 1.2 kg → ₹230/kg. At 1.2 kg, B saves ₹12 versus buying the same quantity at A’s unit price. For A’s 750 g reference quantity, the saving is ₹7.50.
Assumptions and limitations
Use total price for all packs in that option, not a per-pack price with a multipack total quantity. Prices exclude delivery unless entered. Quality, waste, taxes and package availability can change the practical choice. Weight and volume are different dimensions.
